If anybody cared.
Why am i keen about rising oil prices lately? Cause the consequences of the ever-rising oil prices is so real. Nobody can escape from it. Not the students, housewives, working adults and even the don't-care-about-anything people especially those naive people that thinks the rising prices are just a bunch of bullshit that would not intrude their lives. After gathering "studies" about what would happen if oil prices hit US$200 per barrel. The result is not something i would look forward too.
Your food will cost twice as expensive. For example, your $2.50 chicken rice will cost $5.00 sooner or later. As your average food travels for 1500 miles before it ends up on your place. Incurring much of it cost to transportation. Higher oil prices means higher food prices.
COE cost next to nothing. Cause owning a car would be too expensive to maintain.
Everybody will be taking public transport! We will squeeze in the train like sardines just like Japan. You going breathe in what the person standing next to you breathed out. You smell the sweat of the a sport person in the train. You get so close to the person standing in front of you, you can literally lick the sweat beats down his neck.
In case of a recession.
Most probably, you have no bonus at the end of December, a pay-cut, retrenchment. MacDonald's or KFC would retain it's "restaurant title". Movie going would be a once in 4 months event.
You'll see the same damn in years to come from the Singapore Flyer. Just because every company would be dumping or discarding the IRs, Casino and etc projects because it would be ridiculously expensive to be build. Everywhere would be half completed constructions.
Your pocket money slashed half. No more nice clothes, no more mp3 or mp4, you change computer 5 years later. Your hand phone would be a passed down one from your parents.
You be cycling to get your butt on the streets!
